The Law Firm |
|
The law firm of AlexanderJLO was established in 1975 and since that time has grown steadily and firmly. The practice has always operated through a series of departments and so offers a specialised service in all areas of the law from its 3 closely linked offices. The majority of the partners previously worked in the City of London before coming together at the centre of London Docklands. The Senior Partner retains his links with the City as a Freeman of the City of London. The firm is the longest established Solicitors’ practice in London Docklands. The firm believes that this location in modern and comfortable offices in London Docklands puts it in easy reach of everyone. Readily accessible by road the principal office is now only minutes away from the City of London. The Docklands Light railway is but 50 yards away(Crossharbour Station) with a direct service through to Canary Wharf. London City Airport is less than five minutes away putting Docklands firmly on the map as a business centre second to none. Acting on behalf of individuals and businesses throughout the UK and overseas, the firm offers a quality of service and a degree of professionalism which belies its size. The firm believes in a "hands-on" approach to the law backed by personal attention to detail. It numbers amongst its clients small and medium size companies, major plc’s as well as individuals. Being outside the City of London means that the firm can offer its services at a significantly lower cost. We will always discuss with clients our terms of business before embarking upon any transaction. |

Our
Property Department combines a thorough knowledge of the law with
realisation of the importance that property plays in the lives of us
all. Our legal expertise in this field is used in conjunction with a
practical and pragmatic approach to the law to reach the desired results
for our clients. The property related work broadly comprises:-

We have a flourishing department dealing in sales and purchases for those resident abroad and have strong links in the Far East particularly in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The partner in charge of the Property Department retains those links with regular visits to clients and professional contacts in the Far East. Conveyancing quotations will always be supplied in writing. |

Our Litigation department recognises that litigation is, more often than not, the means of last resort. For this reason, the firm’s policy has always been, where possible (and where appropriate), to negotiate a favourable settlement rather than resort immediately to litigation. This is not to say that we approach litigation in a "softly softly" manner - on the contrary, if we cannot achieve our Clients’ aims by negotiation then proceedings are instituted and fought vigorously. Much of the advocacy at court is carried out "in house" thus avoiding as much as possible the additional costs of hiring a Barrister. The Litigation Department offers specialist advice in the following areas for both Plaintiff and Defendant:-
