The top Ligitation Dispute firm in London

Litigation & Dispute

Alexander JLO is a  highly reputable London-based law firm.  We have over 45 years’ experience in various areas of the legal system, including litigation & disputes,
divorce, separations and family law cases.

Our Expertise in Litigation & Disputes

Our Litigation lawyers and solicitors  recognise the seriousness of the dispute resolution process. For this reason, our policy has always been to do our best to negotiate a favourable settlement rather than resort immediately to litigation. However, this
is not to say that we approach litigation in a gentle manner. If we cannot achieve our clients’ aims by negotiation then we will proceed with dispute resolution and fight vigorously on their behalf.

The general advice we offer to our litigation clients is to aim to address and manage disputes earlier in order to avoid further escalation. We understand that this is not always a viable option, and if you find yourself unable to resolve things in this manner, then don’t hesitate to contact our solicitors.

Many of our clients often have questions about our litigation services. Below are some of the most common queries.

Faq

Litigation can be notoriously expensive in the UK. Costs can range from anywhere between £25 and £400+ depending on the sum of the claim that is filed. It then increases by 4.5% for any sum over £10,000. It can also be a lengthy process and depending on the duration of the proceedings, this can directly impact the cost.

Yes, litigation can involve court proceedings. If both parties are unable to reach an agreement themselves, then their dispute will be taken to court and settled by a judge. This process can be long and complex, but our expert team of solicitors will be with you every step of the way.

You always have the right to speak in court without a solicitor present. However, we advise that in order to achieve the best outcome for your case, you seek the advice of a professional litigation specialist.

Litigation proceedings typically take between 3 and 18 months depending on the severity or size of the case. Other factors may come into play, for example, if court dates cannot be made by either of the parties.

If both parties cannot reach a valid agreement on how to proceed, then it remains up to a judge to determine the outcome of the litigation case. This will then enter you into a contract that outlines the negotiated steps going forward.
